1. What foreign languages do Indian children learn?
Nowadays, Indian children can choose from various options, with English being the most common. In addition to English, children also actively learn foreign languages such as German, French, Urdu, and Spanish.
2. Why do Indian children learn English?
Several reasons exist for prioritizing English. Firstly, it offers more opportunities for foreign education and job placements than any other language. Additionally, finding English teachers is easier compared to locating instructors for German, French, or Spanish. Lastly, and most crucially, colleges and universities predominantly use English as the main medium of instruction, making it a necessity to learn the language.
3. Why are so many people learning English?
For most people, I think it is about job opportunities. Today, there are many multinational companies in India and learning English is a must to get jobs in these companies.
4. How can you help children learn English?
I don’t know. I don’t think my English is good enough to help others. As you can see, I still make some mistakes. However, I can recommend some books like Wren & Martin and Youtube Channels, which can help one to become better in English.
5. Do you think the way people learn English today is the same as in the past?
I learned English as a child in school, and many children still learn it in school. However, today, there are also more opportunities. For instance, YouTube Channels, which were not available in the past, provide an additional avenue for learning. Furthermore, numerous streaming sites now offer the chance to learn English while enjoying TV shows and movies.
6. What are the benefits of the Internet for people’s learning?
I believe active voice offers more learning opportunities. Earlier, learners depended on teachers for their education. Now, individuals can also self-educate. Additionally, a significant amount of internet content is free, making language learning much more affordable.
