Describe a useful object in your home that you can’t live without.
1. Why are children attracted to new things (such as electronics)?
Nowadays, everyone is drawn to new things. Children, in particular, exhibit a greater attraction as everything is novel to them, and they harbor curiosity about how things operate. Additionally, children desire to showcase the latest technology to their friends and classmates, seeking ownership and possession.
2. Why do some grown-ups hate to throw out old things (such as clothes)?
Old things hold a personal connection or a story for adults. For instance, they cherish a sweater crafted by their mother or given by an aunt. Discarding such items feels like losing a part of themselves, serving as a reminder of their childhood, hence causing hesitancy. In the current era of mass-produced goods, there is no personal connection to products.
3. Is the way people buy things affected? How?
Yes, people today buy things online. Moreover, like I said before we don’t have an emotional connection with products as in the past. Earlier, we felt a loss when something broke down. Now, it’s just an object, and breaking down is an opportunity to buy a newer version.
4. What do you think influences people to buy new things?
People become bored as things age, prompting them to purchase new items to rekindle their excitement. Additionally, advertisements continually remind us of the perceived value in owning the latest version of a product.
